ARM designs the technology that lies at the heart of advanced digital products, from wireless, networking and consumer entertainment solutions to imaging, automotive, security and storage devices. With over 15 billion ARM based chips shipped to date the technology is used in more than 95% of the world’s mobile handsets and over one-quarter of all electronic devices. Smarter devices contain multiple ARM-base chips such as applications processors, connectivity, touch screens, cameras. Microcontrollers make the world smarter in applications such as motor control, smart metering, security, air bags, toys, heating and air-conditioning and innovation driving system cost of 32-bit ARM microcontrollers toward levels of traditional 8-bit solutions.
