Microsemi at ARM TechCon
Visit Microsemi at Booth #600
Want to know what all the buzz is about? Introducing SmartFusion2 SoC FPGAs! Microsemi's next-generation SmartFusion2 SoC FPGAs are the only devices that address fundamental requirements for advanced security, high reliability and low power in critical industrial, military, aviation, communications and medical applications. SmartFusion2 SoC FPGAs integrate an inherently reliable flash-based FPGA fabric, a 166 megahertz (MHz) ARM® Cortex™-M3 processor, advanced security processing accelerators, DSP blocks, SRAM, eNVM, and industry-required high-performance communication interfaces all on a single chip.
Choose a workshop and reserve your seat today SmartFusion2 SoC FPGA OverviewJoin us and learn about SmartFusion®2 SoC FPGA family, the industry's lowest power, most reliable and most secure programmable logic solution. The SmartFusion2 family offers a 4-input look-up table (LUT) logic architecture with embedded memory and DSP functions and built-in system-level features, including PCI Express®, Gigabit Ethernet, High Speed USB and DDR2/DDR3 memory controllers all on a single chip.
Building an ARM-based System with Libero SoCThis session will explain how to implement SoC designs containing a hard microcontroller subsystem that includes an ARM Cortex-M3 and a flash-based FPGA fabric in a single device. The session will demonstrate the use of the Libero SoC toolset to implement Cortex-M3 based SoC designs using and explain how to analyze timing and power consumption and develop firmware applications.
Motor Control Applications with FPGAsMany systems require the control of multiple independent motors, often requiring individual microcontrollers for each motor. Microsemi's SmartFusion cSoCs provide a unique combination of features to efficiently address the system design requirements in such applications. By embedding an ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller in a high reliability flash-based FPGA along with integrated programmable analog circuitry for motor sensing, SmartFusion cSoCs provide a best-in-class feature set to address the challenges in these applications.
Emcraft - Achieving Low-Power Real-Time performance with uClinux on the Microsemi SmartFusionThis presentation will demonstrate uClinux running on the Microsemi SmartFusion SoC in cooperation with the onboard FPGA to implement a low-power, real-time data harvesting system. Topics covered will include an overview of uClinux running on the SmartFusion Cortex-M3, an FPGA design for harvesting real-time data and using DMA to pass that to external PSRAM, and the corresponding uClinux code to periodically wake up and store that data to onboard JFFS2 flash.
Developing Safety Critical Applications that Meet IEC 61508 Standards Using cSoCs with Embedded ARM Cortex-M3 and FPGAs
Industrial safety systems encompass complex manufacturing infrastructures and processes with many levels of identified safety-integrity levels. This session first provides an overview of numerous safety standards, with particular focus on the IEC 61508 Functional Safety of Electrical/Electronic/Programmable Electronic Safety-related Systems. Included are a case study of a deployed Safety Level 3 system as well as the design and implementation methodology to create redundant, dissimilar processes in a configurable SoC that contains an embedded ARM Cortex-M3 and FPGA logic. How is the Stuxnet Virus Changing the Industry While you're at our booth, check out the following demonstrations, which will get your designs off the ground:
