ARM TechCon is the premier event to connect, instruct, advise and enable the world of electronic and computer design. This year, the technical conference will be divided into two distinct elements.

Chip Design Day (October 29, 2013)

A one-day intensive conference for chip design teams working with ARM silicon IP and tools. Attend the only conference dedicated to the ARM architecture where you can become fully immersed in the latest strategies, methodologies, applications, tools and technologies.  2013 information will be available in early 2013. Look back soon for details.

SoC Architecture & Analysis
SoC Design begins with architectural concepts and analysis. Sessions in this track will describe the architectural choices, IP integration issues, and system analysis that define the front end of ARM IP-based SoC design.

SoC Design & Verification
These sessions will cover key aspects of the design and verification flow for ARM processor-based SoCs, from conceptual frameworks to best practices.

SoC Design for Power & Performance
As technology scales for increased circuit density and performance, the need to reduce power consumption increases in significance as designers strive to utilize the advancing silicon capabilities. In these sessions the focus will be on the techniques than can be used to match performance or power targets.

SoC IP
SoC design depends upon reusable silicon IP. These sessions will focus on both the IP qualification process and some novel new alternatives in IP for ARM processor-based SoCs.

Software & Systems Design Days (October 30-31, 2013)

Days two and three of the conference will be geared towards systems designers and software developers, those interested in building ARM processor-based modules, boards, and systems. It will cover all of the hardware and software, tools, ranging from low-power design, networking and connectivity to Android and open source software to safety and security.

Android / Open Source
The development tools, middleware used for native application development and turnkey solutions. Producing optimized drivers for Android, Linux, FreeRTOS etc ...

ARM Powered Future
ARM IP is at the foundation of over 35% of all consumer electronics in the world. Supported by over 950 Partners technology advancements, design strategies and tools, software and third party IP optimized for the ARM architecture is abundant. But what does the future hold? This track details some of today's leading hardware and software technology and design solutions. Included are details on products and solutions announced at TechCon.

Compute Platforms
The development and implementation of standards and specifications, from board/module design, through subsystems and mobile/netbooks, to consumer and server designs.

Developing & Debugging
Producing code and debugging for the ARM instruction set as well as a wider system view to provide power optimized software across multicore platforms where processing is shared across different size processors and GPUs.

Low Power Design
The development and use of hardware and software techniques to maximize performance while reducing power use and trade-offs.  Using power estimation and the development of power-conscious devices.

Microcontroller and Programmable Platforms
The specification and design of off-the-shelf devices, development tools and systems which simplify programming and application design. The design and use of embedded cores on FPGAs.

Multimedia Processing
Graphics, Audio & Video Designing for and exploiting the Mali family of Graphics Processing Units (GPUs), and software that includes optimized 3D graphics middleware as well as the video engine architecture and the ability to meet the demands of audio from simple speech playback to high end surround sound.

Networking & Connectivity
The design and use of wired and wireless connectivity including its integration in hardware and software. Developing and implementing networking stacks and the incorporation of power management.

Safety & Security
How to develop secure services within TrustZone and in the open world, describing the partitioning of services and functionality across both domains. The development and use of firmware for safety and security against tampering in hardware and/or software, physical or network interference.

Software Optimization on ARM-Powered systems
Use of ARM code generation and profiling tools to get the best results and the methods and metrics to measure performance and identify bottlenecks. Examination of system and hardware issues and their impact on performance including use of software with big.LITTLE and Windows on ARM (WOA).

The Fundamentals of ARM
As more engineers and companies look to join the ARM ecosystem, there is an on-going requirement for information on the basics from core/device selection to commercial requirements - licenses, royalties.
